How it works
"You Become What You Believe" - Oprah Winfrey
Are you looking to improve your athletic performance?

I use a four strategy approach to enhance your athletic performance through mental performance training:

1. Build the Foundation:
2. Identify the Growth Plan:
3. Make the Mental Shift:
4. Reap and Repeat:
Strategy #1
Build the Foundation
The initial session's aim is to identify the athlete's starting point, addressing the most immediate needs as the baseline. We will implement concrete steps and concepts to establish the groundwork and underlying root system for achievement. Good habits, motivation, commitment, and mindset all work in concert to help the athlete build mental strength and awareness. Sessions will be tailored to the individual and their respective sport
Strategy #2
Identify the Growth Plan
The growth plan is the way we nurture the essential building blocks that solidify the foundation and roots. The growth plan can be likened to water, sunlight and nutrition for proper growth of a tree or plant. We are sprouting new behaviors, patterns and thought processes to transform our mindset. The growth plan is custom made for the athlete’s specific goals and needs. These strategies will help the athlete take daily steps toward improving their mental performance acuity.
Strategy #3
Make the Mental Shift
The mental shift is the flowering of the athlete. This is where the athlete begins to embody a new mindset that can be transformative. With a greater awareness and deeper belief in oneself, the athlete is shifting from performance-minded to process-minded. Mental conditioning is like physical conditioning. A commitment to the mental performance skillsets of JL Mental Performance Program is just as essential for the athlete as practicing physical skillsets. In basketball you need to practice skills for shooting and dribbling or rebounding. In Volleyball you need to focus on technical training for hitting and passing. The list goes on and on depending on your sport, but we also need to take time to practice the mental performance aspect. Highest achievement is a meshing of both the physical and mental attributes.
Strategy #4
Reap and Repeat
We reap the rewards from our efforts. The dividends of success come from hard work. What we put in, we will surely get out. Then, we repeat what works and take inventory of the contrast and make the necessary corrections. The cycle is never over because we return to solidifying the foundation, growing the mindset and making mental shifts. It's an ongoing and fluctuating process that we are always learning from and growing in. The goal is to continue to practice and train the mind just as we practice and train the body for our sport to achieve elite status.
